I have been bursting to make this announcement for some time now, but had to keep it under wraps until the grand reveal…
I’m proud to announce the launch of Super League Triathlon — THE future of triathlon.
This is not your traditional swim bike and run. Super League Triathlon is here to bring mainstream attention to triathlon and usher the sport into the big leagues of sport entertainment. We’ve got the world’s top athletes like Javier Gomez, the Brownlees, Mario Mola, and Terenzo Bozzone competing against each other for a total of USD $1.5 Million in prize money and incentives over Season One of Super League Triathlon.
The Super League Triathlon inaugural event will be held from the 17th-19th of March on Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. Athletes will race in the Triple Mix (March 17), Equalizer (March 18) and Eliminator (March 19) formats over the three days. It’s going to be hot and the course is brutal with steep climbs and dangerous descents on the bike and a super-fast looped run course. Athletes will be racing to their utmost limits, and that’s what makes for great triathlon.
All races will be broadcast live on television and on our digital platforms focusing on what fans want to see. The racing is frenetic and action-packed but we’ll also tell the stories behind the racing. Don’t think for a second that it’s all happy families among our athletes. We’ll highlight the rivalries, the personality clashes and intensity of a closed-league, big prize money series.
For triathlon and sports fans we’ll be taking you deeper into the inner sanctum than ever before.
The Super League Triathlon women’s championship series commences from late 2017 onwards in the same locations as the men’s championship series events.
Age group athletes will also have the chance to race in Super League Triathlon from late 2017 onwards. We’re announcing multiple event destinations across the Asia-Pacific and Gulf regions so people of all fitness levels can race the Super League Triathlon 626 format (a 600m swim, 20km bike and 6km run) as well as junior events, fun runs, and health and lifestyle events at our Super League Triathlon events.
